NEW YORK — Antoni Porowski has collaborated with the Born Perfect campaign to end conversion therapy on a limited edition Pride T-Shirt, designed by artist James Concannon, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall.
The T-Shirt, which highlights some of the heroes who have paved the way for all of us, is available only through The Village Den website at www.thevillageden.com/born-perfect-tshirt and in store. All proceeds go directly to support Born Perfect’s work to protect LGBTQ youth from conversion therapy.
Statement by Antoni Porowski:
“I’m proud to have collaborated on the creation of this T-shirt for Born Perfect, because I want every kid to know that they are exactly that. Our mission is simple: Ensure that our children can express themselves freely and live as their truest selves.”
Statement by Mathew Shurka, conversion therapy survivor and Co-Founder and Chief Strategist of Born Perfect:
“Fifty years after Stonewall, we have accomplished so much, and yet much of the world still does not understand or support LGBTQ people. We are so grateful to Antoni and James for this memorable T-shirt and for their unwavering support for LGBTQ youth. This is an incredible way to support our work to end this life-threatening practice and end a message of love and support to all queer people.”
Born Perfect is a survivor-led program created by the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) in 2014 to end conversion therapy by passing laws across the country that protect LGBTQ children and young people, fighting in courtrooms to ensure their safety, and raising awareness about the serious harms caused by these dangerous practices. https://bornperfect.org
